The architectural Design Professional II role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including design, construction documentation, collaboration, communication, design translation, BIM modeling, precise 3D rendering, budget management, code compliance, site visits, and construction administration. Success in this role hinges on meticulous adherence to requests while meeting stringent educational and experience requirements, as well as safety standards and government regulations. Duties
Collaborate closely with the design team throughout all project phases, from initial conceptual designs to detailed construction documents and administration.
Establish effective communication channels with consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and vendors to ensure the successful achievement of project objectives.
Work in tandem with the project architect and clients to grasp project goals, objectives, and program requirements, ensuring a clear alignment with their vision.
Translate architectural sketches and design concepts into both 2D and 3D drawings, utilizing technical expertise and artistic presentation techniques.
Showcase innovative thinking and technical proficiency by generating precise and realistic 3D BIM models and renderings using software such as Revit, Enscape, Formit, and Adobe Suite.
Coordinate closely with clients and project managers to navigate project budgets, financial constraints, and opportunities.
Research and develop design and documentation presentation strategies, incorporating industry trends, spatial requirements, area calculations, and desired design outcomes.
Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other guidelines, all while preserving the integrity of the design.
Manage and facilitate interactions with city authorities during the permitting process, ensuring successful submissions and approvals for projects.
Accompany the project architect on site visits, meticulously documenting and capturing essential information to inform the design process and maintain alignment with site conditions and requirements.
Assist with construction administration tasks, including processing submittals and addressing requests for information, to effectively oversee project progress and resolve design-related issues.
Coordinate the integration of equipment, devices, accessories, and fixtures with consultants to ensure design coherency.
Actively seek and incorporate feedback through regular email correspondence with clients, design team members, and consultants to refine and enhance designs.
Create comprehensive plans, elevations, sections, 3D perspective views, illustrations, schedules, details, and other visual aids to proficiently convey design intent.
Conduct routine on-site visits as directed by the Project Manager/Architect to supervise project progress, document construction activities, and promptly report any design-related issues to the project architect, thus ensuring the preservation of design intent throughout the construction process.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in architecture from a university accredited by National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).
Enrollment in or completion of Architectural Experience Program (AXP).
LEED Green Associate Certification.
2 years (24 months) of post baccalaureate experience in an architecture firm honing the technical aspects of architecture, including construction contract administration and assembly of construction documentation, with hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and Building Information Modeling (BIM), including Revit, Enscape, and Adobe Suite.
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and produce Schematic/Construction Documentation Sets and Presentation Drawings with a profound knowledge of diverse building systems, materials, and architectural detailing.
